Grantees brainstorming ways to engage boomers as volunteers and donors on CCI award day. |
February has been a busy month at JVA Consulting. Here's what's going on:
- Boomer Work: On February 12, we presented our recommendations for increasing civic engagement for Coloradans age 55 and over to the Governor's Commission on Community Service; these recommendations are being included in the state's plan.
- Capacity Building:
- JVA awarded capacity building assistance and $200,000 in financial grants to 34 organizations across the state through our Colorado Compassion Initiative. Linked to JVA's boomer work, these grants will be used to increase grantee capacity to engage older adults in work, service and learning.
- The Junior League of Denver has engaged JVA to help with evaluation capacity building.
- Social Enterprise: The Telluride Foundation, the National Center for Social Entrepreneurs and JVA Consulting launched their partnership to develop social enterprises to stimulate economic recovery in areas of rural Colorado served by the foundation.
